Fixing Reception Problems on your Digital to Analog TV Converter Box

The first problem that booms in the change from Analog to Digital is the reception. Your Digital to Analog TV Converter box may not at all process weak signal and give you a blank picture on your television. So, to be able to maximize your quick rest with your television, you have to fix the reception yourself.
• Double check your antennas. There are different kinds of antennas to receive and process the different channels available. Rabbit ears for channels 2-13, and the circle, bow tie and other elements to pick up channels 14-51. Check if you have the right kind of antenna for your desired channel. To pick up the best signal for channels 2-6 extend the rods all the way up. And if you want a good signal for channels 7-13 reduce the size of the rods.
• Change the location of your indoor antenna. Placing them on top of your television set is not the best thing to do anymore. Digital signals could be best received if antennas are placed near the window, as high as possible, away from other electronics, or at the rooftop.
• Scan for channels on your Digital to Analog TV Converter box. In some cases, you need to “scan” the channels. There is a scan feature available in a convertor box that you could use to check if the location of your antenna is receiving any signal.
• Access the “Signal strength meter” on your Digital to Analog TV Converter box. The signal strength meter must be checked while adjusting the antenna to see whether you are placing it on the right area. This meter could usually be accessed through the remote control of your Digital to Analog TV Converter box. If not, refer to the instruction manual of your convertor box.
• Repeatedly scan for channels. After you have adjusted the location of your antenna, always rescan for channels.
Reception is the key in watching a crystal clear image on your television. Just remember location, location, location! Don’t forget to always rescan antenna. In some cases, you must turn off the Digital to Analog TV Converter box before rescanning.
